A dinosaur found in Portugal may be the largest predator ever to have lived in Europe. Torvosaurus gurneyi had blade-shaped teeth about 10 centimetres long, suggesting it reached a total length of 10 metres – almost as large as North America’s iconic T. rex (PLoS One, DOI: 10.1371/ journal.pone.0088905).
