Junk bodybuilding, my perspective

In this article, I'll share my feelings about a topic of conversation that comes up when we talk about fitness and nutrition.

Junk weight in the minds of others

For some years I became a source of interrogation for some people (close or not), the athlete who wants to gain muscle or increase the performance or the mother who wants to permanently lose these few pounds it deems unsightly. Here is a statement from them is often similar regardless of their goals: "I do not want to pay attention to what I eat, anyway doing sports regularly enough". I am far from being okay with it, even if weight loss or weight gain is theoretically based on a calorie intake higher or lower expenses, supply a thoughtful and appropriate minimum avoids plunge and depressing.

Junk food and fitness in athletes

When I listen to some people, I often hear "you, you can get you a pizza every day, you exercise, you fear nothing". As if the athlete develop a parallel digestive system than the sedentary, which shall prevent the passage of crap in the body ... We have recently seen that sportsmen like Wilfried Tsonga, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Sabine Lisicki and certainly many other saw their performance improve following the removal of gluten *, this is proof that whatever lifestyle they are no possible compensation for staying in shape or reach a weight goals.

Here is how I see the junk personally

  • - Dishes prepared industrially (microwaveable trays, etc.).
  • - Breakfasts children (cereals, spreads, biscuits, etc.).
  • - Excessive consumption of wheat gluten and therefore (pasta, bread or wholemeal bread, etc.).
  • - Excessive consumption of dairy
  • - Everything is fried
  • - Anything for a drink (alcohol, aperitif biscuit, etc.).
  • - Soft drinks and sodas
Of course I could also talk about non-organic products saturated with pesticides ...
The goal is not to become a marginal boycotting television recommendations, but just be aware of it and not seek corrective treatment, but rather to correct his lifestyle including the origin of the problem.
Personally since the beginning of the year, I adopted a new food strategy, I like everyone socializing, family meals, etc.. So I knew I had to make an adaptation of my diet after my recent awareness.
Specifically, what I buy and I cook is gluten free, lactose which allows me to limit my exposure to the substances that I consider harmful. It helps me when I am invited or I decide to eat pizza with friends less talk ill of my digestive system. Consuming approximately 25 meals per week, only one or two contains junk food, I consider that the balance is rather positive.
As always, I prefer to rely on my feelings rather than on assertions whose source is difficult to verify. I noticed some chosent during my cheat meal (meal junk food) that can be helped some people can.
1 cheat meal per week: gustatory pleasure, excitement and trouble falling asleep, good congestion training.
2 cheat meal per week: less than gustatory pleasure, excitement and trouble falling asleep, good congestion in training, slight water retention, constant fatigue.
3 cheat meal per week: no gustatory pleasure, bloating, constant thirst, fluid retention, constant fatigue, poor mood, lack of motivation to train or work.
Now you understand why you are more tired during your vacation.

Personal anecdote

1) for several years, I suffered from chronic sinusitis, the morning getting out of bed, I blew my nose, I sneezed, my face was swollen. I decided to make an appointment with an ENT specialist. During the consultation, he does not ask questions about my diet, he visited my sinusitis using a small camera and concluded that all goes well, he asked me the ultimate question: you are stressed right? Not more than 65 million French. Briefly leaving the firm, I had no solution to fix my problem, so I decided to look for food and gluten issues / lactose, miracle after a few days of sinusitis. I noticed that it was the primary responsibility lactose, I've realized after ingestion of ice cream, the next morning I had a stuffy nose and swollen face. Apparently in France, we are the specialists in self-medication ...
To conclude, I can keep a stable level of overall shape not exceeding two-cheat meal per week.
